NerdForm Labs LLC ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") operates the QuickBrief mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Sign-in provider (Apple, Google, or email/password)
• Encrypted password, if applicable (managed by Firebase Authentication)
• Date of account creation and last activity

1.2 User-Submitted Content

When you use the App to generate study materials, we collect and temporarily store:

• Text you input for analysis
• Images you upload for text extraction (photos of documents, notes, etc.)
• AI-generated summaries, flashcards, and memory tips produced from your content

All user-submitted content is automatically and permanently deleted after 7 days. You may extend the retention period by 7 days at a time from within the App, or delete content manually at any time.

1.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect:

• Number of study sessions and grade attempts
• Subscription status (Free or Pro)
• App usage timestamps (registration date, last visit)
• Anonymized analytics events (e.g., feature usage, paywall interactions)

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Precise location data
• Contacts or address book
• Browsing history
• Microphone recordings (camera is used only when you explicitly take a photo)
• Payment information (handled entirely by Apple App Store)

4. Data Storage and Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Firebase Authentication for secure credential management
• Firebase Storage with access controls — uploaded images are not publicly accessible
• Firestore Security Rules — each user can access only their own data
• Automatic deletion of all user-submitted content after 7 days

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion: Delete your account directly from the App (Settings → Delete Account), or contact us at contact@nerdform.org. All data will be permanently deleted immediately (in-app) or within 30 days (via email request).
• Data Portability: Request your data in a commonly used, machine-readable format.
• Opt-Out: You may stop using the App at any time and request account deletion.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at contact@nerdform.org.

7. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• Right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
• Right to request deletion of personal information.
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

8. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the App. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
